Danny McBride will star in a new comedy from the creators of Eastbound & Down.

At any given time HBO, like any other major network, has multiple projects in production. Even though it has lost David Fincher — who has since moved to Netflix — HBO still plans to bring in viewers with a surefire comedy hit. It’s called Vice Principals, and it comes straight to you from the team behind Eastbound & Down.

HBO today released the first teaser for Vince Principals, which almost sounds like nonsense until context is given. Really, high school Vice Principals? Yes. The series stars Danny McBride and Walton Goggins as dueling vice principals vying for the main gig and all of the prestige that brings. It almost sounds like a Will Farrell movie. Check it out:

More from HBO

The show comes from both Danny McBride and Jody Hill, part of the team behind Eastbound & Down.

This is the next best thing to getting more Eastbound & Down. Fans of that series should have no problem with getting comfortable with Vince Principals. HBO has had problems with finding a new comedy to match Veep, which fortunately is still going strong. Whether Vice Principals will be able to pull that off or not is unclear, but the teaser has already done a bang-up job.

Next: HBO is going after streamers' nostalgia.

This sort of show is perfectly within McBride’s wheelhouse. Goggins also excels at playing the fool, the sort of role he did very well in Quentin Tarantino’s The Hateful Eight.
