As part of HBO’s promotional push for All The Way, you can now watch Bryan Cranston apply a ton of makeup.

It turns out that it takes a lot to turn someone into a president. That sort of thing doesn’t just happen, we guess. It seems like Bryan Cranston has been transformed into president Lyndon B. Johnson countless time at this point, but now we get a look at how the process usually goes.

Cranston has bene talking about how powerful a character LBJ has been for him, and part of becoming him is in the makeup. In an exclusive video released to Vulture, we can now watch Bryan Cranston become Lyndon B. Johnson. It’s actually a lot cooler than it sounds.

Unfortunately there is no info to go along with the short clip. It would be interesting to know more about the particulars, though it can be guessed that the entire process takes a few hours. It’s more of a general hype video than a detailed look at the actual application, as it doesn’t focus in on his face.

HBO has been pushing All The Way especially hard, which shows that it’s a project that they believe in. It’s possible that we’ll get to see more behind-the-scenes looks as the premiere date approaches. If nothing else, clips like this show that the makeup artists are the real stars of the show.
