HBO has Another Trailer for Vice Principals

Danny McBride’s Vince Principals is coming, and HBO has another trailer to prove it.

Vice Principals is the new comedy coming from the same team behind Eastbound & Down, and HBO has been hyping it up admirably. The summer has never been a great time for television, and since both Veep and Silicon Valley will be over by then, HBO needs something to attract viewers. A new Danny McBride show is jus the way to do that.

The new trailer is mostly made up of scenes that we’ve already seen, though we do get a slightly longer look at Bill Murray. Check it out:

We get a better feel for the (rather sad) lives of both Neal Gamby (Danny McBride) and Lee Russells (Walton Goggins.) The potential position of principal is all either off these men have, which works out much better for us than it does for them. Unfortunately for them, they’re both passed over in favor of Dr. Belinda Brown (Kimberly Herbert Gregory.) Doesn’t Walton Goggins have an excellently slimy voice? Surely it will be put to great use here.

The two vice principals will have to team up in order to overthrow the current principal, though it’s made clear that it’s an uneasy alliance. Danny McBride is straight-up asked if he plans to “kill everybody,” so there’s a lot of promise here. Goggins’ character appears to have a firmer grasp on his sanity, perhaps even reality.

Vice Principals premieres July 17th. If all goes well it could end up being the talk of the summer. Out of all of the recently announced HBO comedies and dramas Vice Principals is the one premiering the soonest. Any chance to watch Danny McBride make an idiot of himself is always welcome.
