Game of Thrones Season 7 may air Later than Usual
Game of Thrones will go into production than it has in the past
There’s no such things as a perfect season of Game of Thrones; there is always at least one storyline that ends up having to drag behind. That’s bound to happen when a series has to keep up with so many characters. Still, season six did a fine job of it, and had one Game of Thrones’ strongest season finales.
All eyes are now on whatever comes next, and that happens to be a seventh season with seven episodes. There are only 13 or so episodes of Game of Thrones left before it’s all over. We might end up having to wait a little longer to see season seven, as production will be delayed a little due to weather. D. B. Weiss and David Benioff were on UFC Unfiltered, of all places, and confirmed the news.
This is due, at least in part, to the fact that it’s now winter in Westeros and that requires different weather:
"“We kind of pushed everything down the line so we could get some grim, gray weather, even in the sunnier places that we shoot.”"

Fair enough. That could end up meaning that season seven won’t premiere in April, as past seasons of Game of Thrones have. It would actually be nice to watch winter in Westeros in winter of real life, though that would create an intolerable wait. On the other hand, there are technically less episodes to shoot and edit. The two could even out and Game of Thrones could return in April like it always does.

There’s not enough known at this point to make the call. Game of Thrones is enough of juggernaut that a longer wait wouldn’t really end up making a difference, and many fans would likely appreciate the extra time to get the show just right. It’s both exciting and upsetting that Game of Thrones is officially in its final seasons.
