Evan Rachel Wood hypes Westworld in new interview

It’s difficult to imagine at this point that there was once a time in which we were worried about Westworld’s future and whether or not it was going to be able to pick up its hype after it was critical derailed due to delays and controversies. That now feels like a quaint little thought, as the Westworld hype train rolls on as strong as ever. Make no mistake: that is a very good thing.

So far, Evan Rachel Wood has been the main mouthpiece for Westworld in terms of the cast. And that’s not even necessarily on purpose, as every time she has spoken about Westworld it wasn’t because she was out and about promoting it specifically. There is still plenty of time for HBO to send out actors (probably Wood) on promo tours.

More from HBO

This time Den of Geek sat down with Wood to talk about another movie, Into the Forest, when Westworld came up. Wood remains just as excited as any of us, perhaps even more so:

"“I knew it was going to be an incredible show when I signed on, but it has surpassed my expectations…Yes, it has amazing production value and special effects, and the cinematography is amazing and the cast is amazing. But what’s really blown me away is the writing. I mean it is on another level.”"

She goes on to describe the show as a “feast for the mind.” So, sure, there is likely some hyperbole going on here. But what really matters is how excited she is. HBO has been blasting the newest Westworld teaser before and after all of their current shows and we don’t even technically know when it’s going to premiere outside of a vague date of “fall.”

There is a lot riding on Westworld right now, including the potential fate of any future sic-fi shows that HBO looks at. We have a few months to go before we get to see what all the fuss is about, but we’re not too worried about it disappointing.
