Take another look at behind the scenes of Westworld

There is less than a week left until the premiere of HBO’s major money maker, or Westworld, as some call it, but HBO hasn’t dialed back the marketing. This series is primed to be huge, and HBO wants to do everything it can to make sure that happens. That includes showing off a new behind the scenes look following a similar clip that they released about a week ago.

The new clip is called “Welcome to Westworld: About the Series” and it delivers on its promise. Check it out:

More from HBO

The video appears to be cut from the same footage that was used to create the previous one, but there’s nothing wrong with that. Instead of explaining the morality that drives the series, this clip focuses on a more straight-forward explanation of what the show is really all about. There are more interview snippets of Jonathon Nolan, Thandie Newton, as well as Evan Rachel Wood. There are also a couple of scenes spliced in that we haven’t seen before as well another look at the creation of the androids, called “Hosts.”

Everything we’ve seen so far has set Westworld up to be a powder keg ready to blow, and it likely won’t take long for that to happen. We know that at least both Dolores (Evan Rachel Wood) and Maeve (Thandie Newton) will be made aware of the realities of their world, and it’s all expected to spiral from there.

What we don’t know much about is the mysterious Man in Black, played by Ed Harris. He will act as an antagonist, turning the world of Westworld on its head. Unlike Evan Rachel Wood and Thandie Newton, Harris has been quiet on his role so far. That could be due to an HBO-mandated lockdown, which would make sense if he is as central to the plot as he appears.

Westworld will premiere this Sunday, October 2nd.
