Watch Another Westworld Preview for the Season

This Westworld preview once again chooses to eschew the normal format

The second episode of Westworld built upon the first in impressive ways. The weaknesses are still there, but so are the strengths, and for now, the strengths are winning out. Westworld has a compelling line of mythology running through it, and it’s something that we need to see more of. That works out well, since the characters want to show us more as often as possible.

The preview for Westworld’s third episode, titled “The Stray,” is a little complicated. Like what HBO chose to do at the end of the first episode, this preview is again titled “The Weeks Ahead,” leading us to believe that we’re being shown more than we’ll be seeing come next Sunday. Check it out:

More from Show Snob

Yes, there sill be more violence. Both Delores and Teddy are seen making choices that go harshly against how they were originally programmed. We’re told that some of the Hosts are beginning to remember, and that can only lead to more chaos. The Man in Black will face off again against Teddy, though it doesn’t like it’s going to be the same one-sided fight as before.

Again, it’s not clear how much of this footage we’re actually going to see in the third episode. While it makes sense to use this tactic after the first episode of a new series, it’s a little odd that HBO would choose to do it a second time. Not that we’re complaining, exactly, as it’s not difficult to feel excited about the future of Westworld. Perhaps they don’t want to give too much away week-to-week.

It’s possible that we’ll be seeing this little trick used every other episode (for as long as that’s possible,) as their must be some rhyme or reason here. It’s as maddening as trying to figure out how they pick the songs for the player piano.
