Thandie Newton brings sobering politics to her interview on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.

Westworld is entering its final stretch of episodes, with only four left to go. Thandie Newton’s character, Maeve, in becoming more and more prominent to the point of having just as much screen time (if not more) than Dolores. Her personal journey is also playing out much differently; she has chosen to take more direct control over her life. Thandie Newton went on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert to talk about Maeve, but it’s politics that really takes center stage.

It’s no surprise that the presidential election is all that anyone really seems to talk about. That also includes Thandie Newton, who’s interview is more about coming together as people than what’s going on with Westworld.

If you’d rather skip the political bit you can start at around the 4:30 mark. Newton would rather everyone be able to visit the park than just the super rich — it does cost around $40,000 per day. Funnily enough, this is a sentiment echoed by John Hammond in Jurassic Park (the movie, not the novel,) who would rather the park cater to others besides the “super rich.” Unfortunately there isn’t all that much to be learned from the interview, and Colbert states that he’s actually two episodes behind.

Maeve has become the Westworld character to watch, and we know from recent previews that things are going to get brutal. At the very least we do get the vibe that Newton enjoys her job very much, even if she doesn’t share any inside details.

Next: Westworld episode 7 synopsis.

It’s difficult to guess just how the first season of Westworld is going to end. The only thing we can say for sure is that it’s going to be a major talking point for a while, so it would be in your best interest to be caught up.
