Marriages fall Apart and come Together in Photos for the next Divorce

Frances and Robert continue toward destruction while Nick and Diane move closer together.

At the beginning of Divorce we were presented with two couples, both on the verge of collapse. That’s the episode in which Diane pulls a gun on Nick and he ends up having a heart attack, by the way. Diane and Nicks’ horrible marriage was part of the impetus for Frances to end things with Robert. But Nick and Diane recovered, and Frances and Robert have not been able to do the same. The photos for the penultimate episode, titled ‘Another Party,’ shows these two sides.

First up is a look at Frances and Robert plus their attorneys. Max Broadkin looks serious, though we know that he’s been compromised by a mini-stroke. Tony Silvercreek, however, appears relaxed and assured. The preview for the episode showed a confident Silvercreek easily handling the situation, and that jives with what we’re seeing here.

And here we have a shot of the party that the title is referring to. ‘Another Party’ is directly referencing a party thrown by Nick and Diane. We haven’t seen one of their parties since the aforementioned heart attack incident in the first episode. Outside of an awkward mention of children in the previous episode, the two of them seem to be doing great. It’s possible that their success is going to only end up making things worse between Frances and Robert.

And finally we have a shot of a nervous Frances and Robert in the school gym. Whatever goes down here is going to be a serious source of tension between the two of them, as hinted at by the preview. Whatever happens here is likely what leads Frances to plead for civility between the two of them.

Divorce only has two episodes left, and there is a definite feeling that we haven’t seen the worst from the both of them.
