Westworld Season 2 isn’t Going to be all Chaos
The season finale may not act as a direct lead in to Westworld season 2, according to Jonathon Nolan.
Even though the first season finale did an admirable job of wrapping up most of our pressing questions, including the identity of the Mani in Black, it left plenty of room for more. It’s expected that Westworld season 2 will revolve around Ford’s narrative in all of its gory detail, but there may also be more exploration of how the park functions. This comes from Jonathan Nolan in a quick interview with TV Line.

The finale ended with a bloodbath with Dolores at the heart of it, but season 2 isn’t going to pick up directly from that point. There are more details that Nolan and the writers want to explore first, such as the exact experience of being a Guest in the park. William played that out well enough, but ultimately the focus of the first season is the park as seen through the Host’s eyes. Season 2 will change that.

That will probably mean another dual timeline situation. The park, as it is now, is not the most hospitable place for rich folks on vacation. The show would likely have to travel back in time to show the process, hopefully skipping over any redundancies from William’s experience. And then comes the mayhem, which is another piece of Ford’s narrative. While the details about how the park works are interesting, the real exciting bits are going to come from the chaos. Hopefully season 2 won’t tease for too long to find out who is going to make it out of their alive.
