Miss Game of Thrones? Tune in for an Upcoming Marathon

There was no Game of Thrones this year, but you can still end it with a marathon of the entire series thus far.

Marathons are kind of the thing to do right now, especially when it comes to building hype for shows that are coming up. Girls is doing it, though with a bit of audience participation. Now it’s time for Game of Thrones. The seventh season, which will be the penultimate season, doesn’t come until next year, and so what better way to build excitement than to relive the entire series?

Game of Thrones in its entirety will air on HBO 2 beginning on the day after Christmas. The entire run will span six days, going into 12/31. This isn’t a straight-up marathon; the show will start at noon everyday and then take a breather. That way you won’t have to worry about staying up all night.

More from HBO

There’s still something fun about an old-fashioned marathon even though it’s a bit antiquated these days. If you have access to HBO Go (and you certainly do if you have HBO 2) and HBO Now, so technically Game of Thrones is always at your fingertips. But having a marathon air in real-time and knowing that you’re watching with other people across the country is more exciting. Ending the year with Game of Thrones is a pretty boss way to cap it, that’s for sure.

Season 7 is going to be short compared to other seasons, so use this marathon as an opportunity to get your regular-sized seasons in while you can. This doesn’t quite make up for no new episodes this year, but at least it’s something. If you’re going to be tuning into the marathon, don’t hesitate to let us know.
