HBO is Going to Air a New Westworld Teaser Before Game of Thrones

HBO is ready to bring Westworld back to the forefront, and it will do so before the next Game of Thrones.

It’s almost miraculous that Westworld has been able to overcome all of the hurdles its faced so far. Some time out of the limelight, however, has apparently been doing it some good. Not to mention the fact that both J.J. Abrams and Jonathon Nolan are out there promoting it. There was a brand new teaser at the ATX Festival in Texas recently, but it hasn’t been shared publicly.

That’s going to change. Probably. HBO Tweeted out that there is going to be a new Westworld trailer before the next Game of Thrones on Sunday, though no other details were shared.

The teaser showed off at ATX blew the house off the joint. It’s technically not clear whether or not the new teaser coming this Sunday — at apparently 8:58 EST exactly — is the same that was previously shown. It’s unlikely that HBO put together a separate teaser just to show off, and before Game of Thrones is a seriously primetime slot. HBO wants as many people as possible to see what’s going on with Westworld.

Westworld is going to premiere sometime this Fall. There hasn’t been a full trailer yet, though one is one has to be on the horizon at this point. The last teaser we saw for Westworld was released last year before production temporarily shut down. Even though it doesn’t have a definite premiere date yet, it would be wise to expect a full trailer sometime later this summer, perhaps September at the latest.

Next: HBO released the Vinyl DVD earlier than usual.

Westworld has the potential to effectively reboot mainstream TV sci-fi, and if the extra time off has helped it reached that goal in any way, we’re all for it.
