Walton Goggins Took to Jimmy Kimmel Live to talk Vice Principals

HBO seems fairly assured of Vice Principals‘ success. Any why shouldn’t they be? A series from the team behind Eastbound & Down about two vice principals vying for control of their high school practically speaks for itself. HBO is even bringing the show to SDCC.

A new series can be demanding, and technically Vice Principals is no different. It requires a lot of promotion to go get viewers to check it out, regardless of its pedigree. To that end, Walton Goggins appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live to talk about the show and what it’s like to work with Bill Murray.

More from HBO

Basically Goggins had the same Bill Murray experience that many of us would have had; he was in awe. Goggins also had some very nice things to say about his costar, Danny McBride. The marjory of the above clip, however, is spent reminiscing about high school. Vice Principals is filmed in an actual high school, and apparently that can bring up some memories.

Goggins seems to be the pick for promotional interviews for Vice Principals, as Danny McBride hasn’t gotten himself out there quite as much. Vice Principals is the comedy to look forward to this summer, and is positioned to be a real hit. It also helps that both Veep and Silicon Valley have ended, so there is plenty of room to capitalize on something new.

Next: How about that Game of Thrones season six Blu-Ray?

For those not intimately familiar with Vice Principals at this point, the series stars Danny McBride and Walton Goggins as dueling vice principals attempting to become top dog. Things, of course, are not quite so simple. This sort of man-child comedy is what McBride is best at, and he has been sorely missed on HBO since the end of Eastbound & Down.

Vice Principals will premiere on July 17th.
