All past episodes of High Maintenance are now on HBO NOW

HBO is all about exploring new things this fall, and High Maintenance  is one of them. The hit websieres is being re-tooled as a half-hour show for HBO, creative team intact. High Maintenance is about “The Guy,” a pot dealer in New York City and the clients that he serves. The show, like every other big show coming from HBO, is later this month.

We’ve already seen the trailer, but for those not familiar with the series’ past, HBO has made some nice arrangements. Users with HBO NOW can now stream the entire webseries to prepare for the new series next month:

Even though HBO is exclusively promoting High Maintenance for HBO NOW, all 19 episodes can also be streamed on HBO GO, HBO NOW subscription not necessary. Each episode is about a specific client and their relationship with The Guy, played by Ben Sinclair. The new series will keep the same focus on the clients and not the specific shenanigans of The Guy.

Here’s the trailer in case you missed it:

High Maintenance will only run for six episodes and will air on Fridays instead of the usual Sundays. Sundays, instead, will be saved for Divorce and Insecure. Over the course of 19 previous episodes, High Maintenance has been able to perfect its formula, and six episodes with a longer run time is the right format. Any more than that and it might be stretched too thin.

Next: Watch the full trailer for Insecure.

HBO is taking a bet with High Maintenance, and even though it’s promoting it during primetime (maybe not as much as Westworld) it’s not comfortable committing to its winning time slot. It will be interesting to see what happens with High Maintenance in the future; specifically if HBO will keep it on Friday nights if its successful.
