Westworld’s Early Reviews pin it as a hit

Five Seasons for Westworld doesn’t seem so farfetched

Whether or not you believe in the early review process — in which an outlet is given a certain number of early episodes to review — it can create success stories. Westworld didn’t necessarily need that kind of push, HBO has done more than its fair share in proper marketing strategy. Even if the early reviews weren’t all incredible people would still tune it at this point. At least for the first episode. But none of that matters, because Westworld is everything that we wanted and more.

More from HBO

There a couple of weeks shy of a month until Westworld premieres, so that leaves plenty of time to salivate over the early reviews. Collider, for example, calls the series “completely engrossing,” and ends up giving it four out of five stars. Nerdist backs up that rating but adds an extra star (or burrito, in their case.) All agree that this has the potential to actually be the next Game of Thrones.

The two shows aren’t so dissimilar; they’re both violent, epic in scope, and are character driven. HBO is on its way to becoming not only the network to see fantastic fantasy, but also jaw-dropping science fiction. Right now, Westworld has everything going for it. All it will need to clinch the deal is for a huge turnout on October second, something which seems assured at this point.

The delay and controversies over violence and sexuality ended up doing nothing to slow down this train. This is going to be the show that everyone will be talking about this fall. It’s a feat that The Night Of attempted but couldn’t quite pull of. Other networks will be watching how this all goes down, so it would be wise to prepare for a deluge of sci-fi shows coming.

Hopefully most of them will be better than what Scyfy usually overs up.
